Wisdom Teeth Hands on Essentials Level 1 and Wisdom teeth Hands on Advanced Level 2.

This course is delivered by oral and maxillofacial surgeons who are trained to not just teach you how to safely and effectively remove wisdom teeth in your patients but to also instil in you an understanding of your limitations.

Attendees of Level 1 (July 22nd 2023) will be taken through a morning of intense theory before completing an afternoon of hands on practise on specially made wisdom tooth models. Level 1 training is designed to teach you the theory of safe wisdom tooth extraction as well as introduce the necessary clinical skills by way of model training.

Attendees of Level 2 (July 23rd 2023) will have a day of guided live patient surgery. In the morning, these students will assess all the patient imaging with the surgeons to plan out their surgeries. The students will then be split into three groups of three. The three per group will cycle through the roles of clinician, assistant and observer. By the end of the day, each attendee would have removed four wisdom teeth (two mandibular and two maxillary) of various levels of difficulty, assisted for the removal of four and observed another four. Each of the three clinical bays will have a dedicated oral maxillofacial surgeon supervising the entirety of the surgeries to ensure not just patient safety but the maximum amount of clinical training.
